Dental Veneers With Dr. Smith
Fixing Small Dental Imperfections
Porcelain dental veneers are wafer-thin shells of a tooth-colored material that cover small imperfections in the teeth for a more esthetically pleasant smile. Bonded to the front of the teeth, these thin shells can transform the color, shape, size or length of natural teeth for a number of cosmetic benefits:
- Corrects misshapen, chipped or broken teeth
- Slightly crooked teeth appear to have better alignment
- Less invasive than a dental crown or dental implant
- Fixes teeth that are gapped, uneven, discolored or stained
- Looks and feels just like strong, healthy adult teeth
Patients who seek to restore their smiles with dental veneers come in for treatment for several reasons. Whether tooth decay, staining, aging or a dental injury has affected one or more teeth, Dr. Smith is available to restore smiles with our revolutionary cosmetic veneer treatment.
The Dental Veneer Process
A Simple Process for Life-Changing Results
After a comprehensive dental exam with Dr. Smith, the dental veneers process may begin. Although treatment is typically painless, a local anesthetic may be applied for patients who wish to feel additional support. Once patients feel relaxed and comfortable Dr. Smith removes a thin layer of the tooth enamel to make room for the dental veneer. An impression is then made over the prepared teeth to serve as a mold for the new veneers.
Before your next appointment, Dr. Smith will discuss with you the proper color, shape, size and fit of your custom veneers. At your second appointment they are compared to your existing teeth and any necessary changes are made before being polished and fit into the mouth. Once they are ready they are permanently cemented into place for a secure and comfortable fit. After treatment dental veneers may look, feel and function much like regular healthy teeth.
After Dental Veneers
Simple Steps For Longer Support
Although porcelain veneers are naturally resistant to stains and cavities, your teeth still require regular care. Once your custom veneers are placed, we strongly recommend maintaining your dental health by practicing a healthy dental hygiene routine, which includes brushing and flossing twice daily. In addition it is important not to treat your teeth like “tools” to open containers or bite into hard materials. As always we highly recommend coming in every six months to monitor the success of your dental veneers and make any adjustments as needed.
